How it works

You see a number for a short time. When it disappears, type it. If you are right, the next number has one more digit. The test ends at the first mistake and shows your longest correct number.

How many digits do people remember?

In Miller’s well-known 1956 review, immediate memory span for many kinds of items was around seven, give or take two. Tricks such as grouping digits in pairs can help.

Is this an IQ test?

No. It is a short-term memory exercise, not a measure of intelligence.
